Our next stop was two full weeks in Hong Kong–one of our favorite cities in Asia. We hadn’t been to HK in nearly a decade (since living in Singapore) and were eager to see how much had changed in that time. Also, our dear friends the Hills are currently living in HK–we were so excited to be able to spend some time with them in their new home!
In the few hours since we left Doha, the Hong Kong protests had come to the airport, occupying the International Arrivals Hall. It was quite a surprise after we cleared customs. This protest was calm and peaceful and we got into a taxi without incident, but it was a little intimidating to push an overwhelmed jet lagged two-year-old through the crowd of people, many of whom were wearing masks and chanting.
The next two weeks were tons of fun–interspersed with a typhoon, a few protests, a very wet trip to Disneyland HK and tons of good times with good friends!

The city comes into view!

Protests happened intermittently during our time in HK. Thankfully, they were well publicized so we didn’t get stuck anywhere or end up in the middle of something.

Morning at HK park

We even made it up to Victoria Peak!

I love this photo of the two of them…Finn and Conrad 🙂

Conrad and I went to the Goldfish Market in Mong Kok. Turns out, they also have turtles!

Last night in HK at Craftissimo with Finn and her family. The kids loved the popsicles and we loved the drinks! I can see why all of the Hills love this place 🙂
